RV/Camper Parking

Virginia Tech Athletics manages all recreational vehicle parking for home football games, including parking locations, permit sales, entry times, fees, and parking policies.

Parking Services does not sell or manage football game-day recreational vehicle permits.

Parking impacts for permit holders

Several campus parking lots are leased to Virginia Tech Athletics and must be cleared before each home football game. Parking Services will communicate lot-clearing deadlines, relocation instructions, and reopening information to affected permit holders.

Customers should keep the email address, telephone number, license plate information, and other contact information on their Parking Services account current to ensure they receive important game-day parking notifications.

Vehicles remaining in a restricted game-day parking area after the posted clearing deadline may be cited and towed at the owner’s expense.

Faculty/Staff Working on Campus on Game Day

Faculty and staff who have a valid Faculty/Staff (F/S) parking permit and need to be on campus for work on game day may park in the North End Parking Garage. Employees should use their Hokie Passport to scan in and out of the garage and must enter from the Turner Street entrance only. 

Additional parking for faculty and staff working on campus will be available in the following areas:

• Around the Drillfield
• The Resident side of the Duck Pond Road Lot (The Cage)
• The Oak Lane Community

When entering Oak Lane, do not park in the first large parking lot on the right-hand side, as this area is reserved for ADA parking.

Faculty/Staff Remote Permit Holders

Remote permit holders may not park in the North End Parking Garage on game days. Remote permit parking will be available in the following areas:

• Around the Drillfield
• The Resident side of the Duck Pond Road Lot (The Cage)
• The Oak Lane Community

When entering Oak Lane, do not park in the first large parking lot on the right-hand side, as this area is reserved for ADA parking.

Resident Student Parking

On game days, resident students with an R permit should park in the Duck Pond Drive lot, also known as the Cage lot, in the area highlighted in dark green on the map below. This area is located north and east of the HABBI 1 building when facing away from Duck Pond Drive.

Resident students may also park around the rear perimeter of the Cage lot or along Oak Lane, as directed by posted signage and Parking Services communications.

Vehicles not parked in the designated resident student locations may be cited and towed at the owner’s expense.

Permit holders should always follow posted signs, temporary traffic controls, and instructions provided by Parking Services or game-day personnel. Please read Parking Impacts posted in the VT News for each football game.

Commuter, Graduate & Residential Well Being (RWB) on Campus on Game Day

Commuter, Graduate (C/G) and Residential Well Being (RWB) students who must be on campus on game day may park in the Resident section of the Duck Pond Drive Lot (the Cage) or in the Oak Lane Community. When entering Oak Lane, do not park in the first large parking lot on the right-hand side, as this area is reserved for ADA parking.
