Vehicle rental request are made through Fleet Commander. The online system provides Fleet Services’ customers benefits including:

  • Elimination of the approval form
    • Customers no longer need to bring in paperwork
  • 24 hour reservation service
  • Automatic email approvals, confirmations, and requests
  • Ability to view any requests after January 5, 2009
  • View previous, current, and future requests through My Schedule

All drivers should review the Fleet Commander policies before reserving a vehicle.

New Users

All drivers and requesters need to create a new user profile with Fleet Commander.

To create a new user profile:

  • Visit the Fleet Commander website
  • Click Sign Up Now! on the left side of the screen
  • Set up a user profile using a valid Virginia Tech PID and Hokie Spa password.

Students may drive vehicles as part of a department’s reservation.  However, actual reservations must be made by the department using departmental funding and approvers.

Per University Policy 8013: Establishing and Maintaining a Registered Student Organization, Registered Student Organizations are not authorized for off-campus travel, which means the organizations are not eligible to rent vehicles from Fleet Services.
