Blacksburg Transit (BT) provides public transportation to Virginia Tech students, faculty, and staff, citizens of Blacksburg, and partnering communities within the New River Valley and has been named one of the 10 best small transit systems in North America.
Virginia Tech students, faculty, and staff make up 95 percent of BT's ridership.
The bus system is tailored to fit the needs of Virginia Tech students and the university community. Fares for students, faculty and staff are prepaid, so they have unlimited access to all Blacksburg Transit routes. Simply show your Virginia Tech ID to the driver when you board.

BT Access (ADA Option)
BT Access is a paratransit door-to-door service complementing fixed route bus service in Blacksburg. The service is available for persons with a temporary or permanent disability who meet the criteria established under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Passengers must be certified to use BT Access, applications can be downloaded here, or can be mailed by request by calling (540) 961-1803. Please review the fare page for applicable fares; monthly passes are not accepted on BT Access
