Full-time and part-time salaried employees and non-student wage employees in pay bands 1, 2 and 3 are eligible to participate in a new pilot program offered by the Office of Parking and Transportation.
These employees have the option to purchase a discounted 2015-16 parking permit for $30 (a savings of $254 of the regular price of $284). The permit allows employees to park in the Chicken Hill Lot and ride a shuttle bus to and from the core of campus on weekdays, including during breaks.
The permits can be purchased in person at the Office of Parking and Transportation, 605 Research Center Drive, or a registration form can be downloaded from the website and mailed to the office.
Employees who have already purchased a regular faculty-staff parking permit for 2015-16 and are interested in participating in the pilot program should visit the Office of Parking and Transportation, 605 Research Center Drive, to exchange the permit and process a refund. The deadline is September 1.
Pick-up time at the Chicken Hill Lot starts at 6:52 a.m., with delivery to central campus by 7:05 a.m. The route follows existing BT stops on the CRC Shuttle route around campus. From the start of service until 6:32 p.m., the estimated departure time is: :12, :32, and :52 after the hour, or every 20 minutes.
All employees will be given three daily passes per year at no additional charge. Individuals may use these passes to park in other lots closer to campus should the need arise. Additional daily permits can be purchased for $5 per day.
An alternative parking lot will be identified during football games, if needed.
In the case of a family emergency, transportation to the remote parking lot will be provided by the university.
